PTAC brings millions in government
contracts to community
Local
firms have benefited from services that support their ability
to sell to local, state, and federal government entities.
Operated by the Genesee Regional Chamber of Commerce, the
Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) has achieved
record-setting results in recent years by helping area firms
obtain new business and diversify their customer base. Total
sales achieved by Genesee County clients in 2006 was $16.5
million from nearly 400 government contracts.
Services offered at the Regional Chamber include individual
counseling and seminars and are provided at no charge. The
technical assistance helps local businesses compete effectively
for government contracts. 2007 brought $11.3 million to
Genesee County with over 390 contracts.
