African American Advisory Committee The African American Advisory Committee (AAAC) of the Genesee Regional Chamber of Commerce is a committee formed to provide input to the GRCC on the best ways to grow the African American business community and to advise on issues that are aligned with the mission of the Regional Chamber. The members of the committee are professional African American business men and women of Genesee County with diverse experiences in the private and public sectors. The purpose of the committee is to provide input to the Regional Chamber on the best ways to grow the African American business community. It is also the purpose of the group to advise the Genesee Regional Chamber of Commerce on issues that are aligned with the mission of the Regional Chamber. The Regional Chamber’s mission statement focuses on addressing Economic Viability, Community Impact, Diversity and Quality of Life in Genesee County. The goal of the committee is to advise and assist the Genesee Regional Chamber of Commerce with concepts and initiatives to help the development and expansion of African American and other under-represented business enterprises in Flint and Genesee County. The AAAC is actively engaged with the implementation of their 2009-2012 strategic plan that helped address the barriers, challenges and opportunities facing African American businesses. The 2009-2012 strategic plan encompasses three goals:
