Cleary University Announces
Genesee Regional Chamber of Commerce Scholarship
(Flint, Michigan—August 20, 2009) Cleary University announced today that the University has established a $1200 scholarship for selected members of the Genesee Regional Chamber of Commerce. The scholarship will be available starting with the fall term. Read the article from The Flint Journal.
The scholarship will be awarded to five Regional Chamber business members, an employee of the member business or a relative of the employee of the member business. The scholarship may be applied for on an annual basis as long as scholarship criteria are met.
Cleary University offers programs in Flint at Mott Community College, and has several locations throughout southeast Michigan. “Cleary University has maintained a close relationship and partnership with Mott Community College, and has offered courses in the University Center for the past several years,” said Tom Sullivan, President of Cleary University. “Cleary University is delighted to extend that partnership to the Genesee Regional Chamber of Commerce to assist the Regional Chamber enhance the economic climate of the Genesee County area.”

“The Genesee Regional Chamber of Commerce is a strong advocate for higher education and continuous, lifelong learning,” said Tim Herman, Regional Chamber CEO. “We are very fortunate to receive such a generous opportunity from Cleary University and I am certain it will be applauded by the members that receive the tuition assistance.”
“Becoming a more proactive member with the Regional Chamber was the next logical step in building our Flint location,” said Sullivan. “I hope we can expand the scholarship program even more in the years ahead because building a stronger work force here is good for Cleary University and for the entire community.”
In addition to the scholarship opportunityCleary University is also pleased to announce that it will waive its normal admissions application fee for any Regional Chamber applicant.
“This is a great day for our members,” Herman stated. “In these times a scholarship based solely on membership in our organization is an outstanding benefit for our members.”
