FOR TRAINING IN HEALTHCARE (M-PaTH) PROJECT TO TRAIN DISLOCATED WORKERS
(FLINT, MICHIGAN) On September 2, 2008 United States Senator Debbie Stabenow participated in a press conference announcing the $2 million funding for the Mid-Michigan Partnership for Training (M-PaTH) project to train dislocated workers for careers in the healthcare industry. The press conference was held by the Greater Flint Health Coalition in the lobby of the Genesee Regional Chamber of Commerce. Other participants included Michigan State Senator Deborah Cherry, Chair of the Greater Flint Health Coalition Board of Directors, as well as the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation, Prima Civitas Foundation and the Regional Chamber. The M-PaTH Project is based on the Greater Flint Health Coalition’s Flint Healthcare Employment Opportunities (FHEO) training model. The FHEO M-PaTH project will train 250 dislocated workers residing in Genesee County, and will also serve as the replication model for training 150 additional dislocated workers from the 12 other counties in the Mid-Michigan region.
