Great Start Collaborative Genesee Breakfast: Economic Development
with High Public Return—Early Childhood Investment
(FLINT, MICHIGAN, AUGUST 12, 2008) On Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at the Sarvis Conference Center in the Flint Cultural Center the Regional Chamber, in partnership with Priority Children and the Genesee Intermediate School District, sponsored the Great Start Collaborative Genesee Breakfast. The breakfast focused on Economic Development with a High Public Return: Early Childhood Investment, and featured guest speaker Rob Grunewald, Associate Economist of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis and co-author of the Minneapolis Federal Reserve’s Beige Book report on current economic conditions. Grunewald addressed community leaders regarding the direct financial impact educational investment has on their business.
