<title>Partners for Progress: Senator Stabenow discuss her initiative that cuts red tape for small businesses</title>
		<link>http://www.thegrcc.org/partnersforprogress/?p=130</link>
<description>U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow today joined Flint-area business owners and members of the Genesee Regional Chamber of Commerce in downtown Flint to discuss her bipartisan initiative to repeal a burdensome red tape requirement for small businesses. Called the "1099 requirement," this IRS regulation would require small business owners to file an IRS 1099 form for each vendor from whom they make purchases of $600 or more. Without Senator Stabenow's amendment to repeal the new regulation, 1099 filings for 40 million American businesses would increase an estimated 2000 percent.</description>
